Kuta
4.8

A spot on a very beautiful beach in Bukit, with a couple of hundred steps to the beach.

A few peaks with a good right wave.

Sometimes there is a left wave, but not of the same quality.

Pecatu (Uluwatu)
4.8

Highly sensitive to the swell direction (needs to be southern) and the wind.

It’s better to surf at mid and high tide.

The size needs to be 4−5 feet.

Pecatu (Uluwatu)
4.7

Uluwatu works well in nearly any swell.

The waves always have a perfect shape.

The skill level of the surfers is very high; beginners have no business there and should choose times with fewer people if possible.

Pecatu (Uluwatu)
4.7

Good right-hand wave.

Suitable for learning in small swell, schools come here.

When the swell is significant, the wave becomes tubing and quite challenging.

But because of its location, it generally has less swell compared to other spots.

Benoa (Nusa Dua)
4.6

It’s a cozy surf spot beach.

Known as a swell-magnet, it always has good waves.

There are several wave peaks outside the bay, which are more pronounced and gentle, making them difficult for small boards. There are both left and right waves, with the right one also offering good c…

Balian
4.5

Good spot, several peaks. Sandy bottom.

There are both left and right waves.

The spot is suitable for continuing education.

The lineup is quite close to the shore.

Canggu
4.5

Probably the most remote surf spot in Bali.

It’s another 30-minute drive from Balian.

On the outside, there is a good, calm, very long left wave.

From there, you can actually ride probably the longest wave in Bali.

Medewi
4.5

The spot is located roughly opposite the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Good right-hand wave.

Requires a solid swell for it to work.

This spot is known for its localism — the locals are very aggressive toward visitors.

Sanur
4.5

The spot is located at the southwestern tip of Bukit.

A staircase with over 500 steps leads down the cliff.

The main peak is a right-hand wave.

The spot is considered a swell magnet, and there can be decent-sized waves even when there is nothing elsewhere.

Pecatu (Uluwatu)
4.5

Serangan is practically the main spot during the winter period when strong west winds blow. It works consistently.

Entry to the area is paid.

The lineup is quite far, you’ll have to paddle a lot ;)

Serangan
4.4

A fairly decent left wave with a sharp push at the start.

The tide is better when it’s medium.

There are often many locals surfing.

The wave is also very unpredictable and has been quite bad and uneven lately.

Benoa (Nusa Dua)
4.2

The main spot for beginner lessons.

Very long with many peaks.

Sandy bottom, good foam, plenty of peaks, simple waves (but they can barrel in good swell). Almost all surf schools have their first few sessions in Kuta. Ideal tide is from 1 meter to 2 meters.

Kerobokan
3.3

Neighbor of Batu Bolong.

Left and right waves.

Also quite simple, a good spot for longboarding.

Works better at low and mid tides. Suitable for intermediates.

Often even more crowded than Batu. Best tide is medium.
