A famous cafe with vegan/raw food cuisine.
A must try for those who are passionate about healthy eating and vegan/raw food cuisine! Sayuri is the Japanese name of the cafe owner, she is an experienced chef and a famous person in Ubud. She got acquainted with vegan cuisine in Japan, since then Sayuri has become a vegan, a chef, a yoga practitioner, traveled the world and lived in different countries, gained experience, inspiration and new recipes, came to Bali, fell in love, stayed and opened her own vegan cafe and specialized culinary school, wrote and published books with her signature recipes. In her signature dishes, Sayuri loves to mix Asian and European ingredients, combine different flavor combinations and experiment! Homemade miso paste (gluten-free), ancient Asian healer Reishi mushroom, seaweed - Japanese influence.
In her school, she conducts courses for professionals and amateurs, lasting from several hours to several days. In her courses, you will learn how to cook vegan and raw food dishes of Italian, Asian and Balinese cuisine, ferment ("pickle"), make a traditional Indonesian medicinal drink from turmeric Jamu, become a professional raw food chocolatier and pastry chef. What to try?
1. Laksa/laksa - a hearty Malay soup in a vegan version: coconut curry soup with red rice noodles, pickled mushrooms, tempeh teriyaki, steamed vegetables and fresh green beans.
2. Norwegian style Gravlax/gravlax - delight! How is this possible? A "sandwich" made from gluten-free crackers, "salmon" from smoked papaya, nut "cream cheese", fresh herbs, capers, lemon wedges... it's just a brain and taste explosion)!
3. Lasagna Italian - raw lasagna with zucchini pasta, sauces - nut béchamel and tomato marinara, marinated spinach, fresh salad and dressing.
4. Wedding Cake - who said that a wedding cake is only for a special day?!
