A family cafe with homemade noodles and hearty soups.
Open 24 hours.
Atmosphere:
Madam May opened the first Hongalia cafe two years ago in a small alley near Jalan Hanuman. In two years, the cafe has grown and moved to a new location on the slightly busier Jalan Made Lebah. But here it has become much more spacious, there is a common room, places on the veranda and in the courtyard.
The interior is minimalist, there is no designer furniture and trendy walls for Instagram selfies, but there is delicious food, very reasonable prices and a complete absence of taxes.
There are children's chairs, on request they cook without spices and not spicy.
Cuisine:
The basis of the entire menu is homemade noodles (rice and egg), made according to the signature family recipe of the hostess. They fry it, boil it, add it to soups and curries, dishes are built around it and you definitely have to try it.
The owner is a keeper of Chinese recipes, but the menu is more of a mix of Asian trends - there is Thai tom yum, and Vietnamese spring rolls, and Indonesian bakso soup, and Indian curry, and even burgers and French fries for those who do not like Asian spices and soups.
The ingredients are fresh, from farmers' markets, they do not use flavor enhancers, some spices are brought from China.
The menu has a lot of meat, fish, shrimp, but vegetarians will not go hungry - almost all items are also available in a vegetable version.
The dessert menu is not large, with traditional Asian sweets.
Drinks:
A large selection of fresh fruit juices and smoothies - to cool down after the bright spices and chili)
No coffee machine, they make Balinese coffee and several types of tea - including homemade Japanese genmaichai.

What to try?
1. Curry - a bright soup with spices, delicate coconut milk, homemade noodles (I like wide flat rice), vegetables and meat.
2. Wonton soup - a light soup with a delicate clear broth and homemade dumplings made from rice dough and meat or shrimp of your choice.
3. Mango sticky rice - a traditional Thai dessert made from mango and sweet rice cooked in coconut milk.
