A post has appeared on Reddit, in the Bali section, warning those who apply for an Indonesian visa online before travelling.

The author says that 24–48 hours after submitting an application on evisa.imigrasi.go.id, they received an email supposedly from the official service, demanding that they urgently obtain a “mandatory arrival card”. The email included their real name and the correct application number, so it looked like part of the genuine process. The user was then directed via a link to make a payment, and afterwards to transfer money in cryptocurrency.
There is still no official confirmation of this specific new scam and any possible data leak. However, the content of the email is based on a real procedure. From 1 September 2025, the All Indonesia system has been in place for international passengers arriving, including via Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali. It is used to complete the arrival declaration, including the arrival card. Completing this declaration is free of charge.
The official immigration website also states that Indonesian government websites usually use the .go.id domain.

This is not the first time immigration has warned about fake visa services. Back in 2022, the Directorate General of Immigration reported a fraudulent website for applying for an e-VoA that appeared at the top of Google search results and took payments like the real service. The agency stressed at the time that the official e-VoA application website was only on a government domain.
If, after submitting your visa application, you receive a new request to pay extra, it’s best not to click the link at all. To keep your data safe, we recommend applying through a trusted agency, Legal Indonesia. The company’s specialists will not only arrange your visa, but also help you complete the arrival card if you don’t want to spend time figuring out the form.
