Surprise Inspection Finds Code Violations at Nuanu

One of the landmarks of Nuanu Creative City, the famous Tri Hita Karana Tower, situated on a cliff edge, raised concerns among local authorities. During an inspection conducted by the Tim Pansus DPRD Bali (a commission on zoning, property, and permits), they discovered safety violations. The pool on the cliff was also deemed unsafe.

"We demand the immediate closure of the pool area. Such activity on a cliff is prohibited by law. There are many guests at the pool, and yes, the view is beautiful, but should an accident occur, those deemed responsible face penalties of up to 15 years in prison," stated commission head I Made Suparta.

According to Suparta, the commission is not against investments, especially considering that the management of Nuanu Creative City shows willingness to fully cooperate. However, he stressed that investors should not breach zoning laws for their own benefit.
The authorities in Nuanu agreed to the demands and decided to close the pool area to rectify all violations. I Gede Wahyu Harianto, senior legal advisor of Nuanu Creative City, said that the management is ready to follow all the commission's directions.

"We will temporarily suspend activities only in the pool area. But we want to emphasize that this is not a new building; it is merely an auxiliary facility," said Wahyu Harianto.
He also noted that Nuanu already has all the necessary documents, including a construction permit (PBG) and an environmental impact assessment (Amdal).

"The commission has not set specific deadlines for the closure, but we are ready to rectify the situation and continue cooperating," he concluded.
The inspectors also turned their attention to the famous tower next to the pool. It appears to be located in a zone where activity should not occur.
The structure, approximately 30 meters high, built from rattan and ironwood, has 108 steps and can be seen from all around.

In the evenings, the tower features a light and sound show: over 1,000 lights, 18 projectors, and generative images created by artificial intelligence. The equipment is estimated to cost over $1 million. Whether the site will continue to operate is not yet known.
