You can now access the most advanced medical care in Bali through insurance. The International Hospital in Sanur (BIH), which began operations this spring, is now partnering with Prudential Indonesia and Prudential Syariah. Clients of these insurance companies can expect the most attractive conditions for treatment.

This includes both inpatient and outpatient services. Everything covered by the policy is paid directly by the insurer, allowing patients to focus on receiving treatment without worrying about payments or paperwork.
Additionally, there are extra services: if the required room category is occupied, Prudential clients will be upgraded to a more comfortable one at no extra charge for at least three days, or until the policy-specified room becomes available. Also, there is a free transfer from the airport to the hospital for inpatients, and their families have access to the VIP Aurora Lounge, a separate waiting area with business-lounge-level comfort.
Furthermore, all Prudential policyholders have access to services at the Singapore Icon Cancer Centre based at BIH. This is a full-fledged oncology center providing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted treatments, and oncological surgeries. It offers the kind of assistance for which Indonesians previously traveled to Malaysia, Singapore, or South Korea.
According to the Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, over a million Indonesians travel abroad for treatment annually. It was previously believed that neighboring countries had better equipment, faster and higher quality service, and medical technologies that are still lacking in Indonesia.
Now, with the opening of the International Hospital in Sanur, the government has officially tasked itself with bringing back at least 30–40% of these patients in the coming years. Moreover, according to Dr. Noel Yeo, BIH's Director of Commercial and Operational Affairs, the hospital aims not only to provide quality services to Indonesian residents but also to attract international patients. Thus, the hospital is set to become a center for medical tourism in Bali.
The collaboration with Prudential is seen as a key step in this direction. As representatives of both sides emphasize, the main goal is to make international-level medical services as accessible as possible for local residents and visitors to Bali by removing barriers such as prepayment and lengthy insurance approvals.
The International Hospital is located in the Special Economic Zone KEK Kesehatan Sanur and covers an area of 67,465 m². It can accommodate 255 inpatients at a time across five key specialties: cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics.
BIH is not just called international; it is already collaborating with medical institutions from Singapore and Japan, like SingHealth, Sapporo Cardiovascular Clinic, Innoquest, and the aforementioned Icon Cancer Centre.
The focus is on international quality standards, modern equipment, and service that combines global experience with traditional Balinese guest care.
