One of Bali’s best-known attractions has surprised tourists ahead of the peak season. From 1 April 2026, Monkey Forest in Ubud (Monkey Forest Ubud) has officially increased its entrance fees.
Foreign adults will now pay IDR 130,000 to visit the sanctuary. A child ticket for overseas visitors costs IDR 100,000. This applies to children aged 3 to 12, while younger kids enter for free.

Prices have also increased for Indonesian citizens. An adult ticket now costs IDR 90,000, and a child ticket is IDR 60,000.
Park management says the decision is due to rising costs of maintaining the site. The money will go towards forest conservation programmes and looking after the monkeys’ health.
The park is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00, but ticket counters close at 17:00 sharp. Entry can be paid in cash or by bank cards from all major networks, including Visa and MasterCard. The terminals at the entrance also support the local QRIS fast payment system.
On peak dates, management recommends buying tickets in advance via the official website. This will help save time in queues, which build up during the high season.
Prices are changing at other popular spots on the island as well. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (Ulun Danu Beratan) in Bedugul is also set to update its price list from 1 July 2026. Agus Teja Saputra, a representative of the complex, confirmed to journalists that these plans are serious. However, not all tourist attractions have taken this route.
The management of Tanah Lot (Tanah Lot) Temple has decided to temporarily postpone the planned price increase. Site manager Wayan Sudiana links the decision to the unstable situation worldwide. Still, Tanah Lot’s administration plans to return to the issue of revising tariffs later.
