Kintamani Launches Electronic Tickets for Easier Entry

Kintamani in Bali is a must-visit location. Situated in the central highlands, Kintamani serves as a gateway to Mount and Lake Batur and some of the island's best coffee shops.

Many tourists are unaware that an official entrance fee is charged in the Kintamani tourist area to support tourism and infrastructure development. This mandatory fee applies to all travelers, both local and foreign.
Cost for foreigners:
  • 50,000 rupiah for adults.
  • 30,000 rupiah for children.
Official payment points are located at the main entrances to the village. The busiest point is at the gepark gates at the entrance to Penelokan village.
Since August 17, the Bangli Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) has implemented an updated ticketing system to increase tourists' confidence:
What's changed:
  • Tourists receive official electronic tickets instead of simple receipts.
  • The tickets feature the slogan "Bangli, the original of Bali".
  • QR codes and links to other tourist attractions in the region have been added.
  • Tickets include the official emblem of the Bangli Tourism Office.
Previously, the lack of official receipts gave tourists the impression that fee collection was fraudulent or unofficial. The new electronic tickets address this issue, serving both as proof of payment and promotional material.
The fee is collected by the official Bangli Tourism and Culture Office. Payment points are monitored by local security and traffic police. The entrance fee does not cover visits to other attractions (the geopark museum and climbing Mount Batur require additional fees). The M-Pos electronic ticket system is currently only in use in Kintamani and Penglipuran.
