Half-Price Electricity in Bali: Who Gets the Discount and When?

The state electric company PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) launched the “Bangkit Lebih Terang” (“Rise to a Bright Future”) campaign. Until May 23, 2025, you can increase your connection capacity with a 50% discount.

The offer is about increasing capacity from 450 to 7700 VA. Previously, such an upgrade would have cost more than Rp 7,000,000, but until the end of the campaign, the price is only Rp 3,512,625. The offer may be particularly relevant for those who often encounter power outages. A capacity of 450 or 900 VA may not be sufficient for those working from home who use air conditioners, boilers, and washing machines, especially if several people live in the house.

All PLN customers can participate in the offer, provided they were registered in the system before May 1, 2024; their current connected capacity does not exceed 5500 VA and the requested capacity is not more than 7700 VA. Participation is only possible through the PLN Mobile application.

To get the discount, you need to log in to the app and make any transaction (buy a prepaid token or pay the bill). After a successful payment, the customer receives an e-voucher. It will come to your email or appear in the 'Reward' section. You need to enter the code from this voucher when applying for a capacity increase in the app. After payment, you just need to wait for the PLN technicians to arrive.

It's important to note that before applying for a capacity increase, the user should not have any debts. Moreover, you will not be able to reduce the capacity within a year unless PLN announces special conditions.
