Badung Police are investigating a fight involving foreigners at the Jade by Todd English bar in Tibubeneng, near Canggu. A video of the fight has spread on social media. The footage shows several people fighting inside the venue while security tries to break it up.
The conflict began with an argument between foreign patrons. In total, 15 people from three groups became involved. Security tried to intervene, but the argument quickly escalated into a fight.
At one point, one of the patrons threw a glass tumbler. It hit another guest in the temple area. After that, the fight escalated and more people joined in.
Several foreigners were injured. Police have not yet specified exactly how many people were hurt or how seriously.
Property was also damaged in the bar. During the fight, dozens of glasses, shot glasses and carafes were smashed.
A DJ night was taking place at the venue. More than 100 guests were in the room, and a total of 462 people passed through the bar over the course of the event. Police noted that the space was too cramped for that number of guests.
Jade by Todd English was temporarily closed. The premises were sealed off and police tape was put up at the entrance. Investigators seized CCTV footage and questioned seven witnesses, including security staff, management representatives and bar employees.
The identities of those involved are still being established. Their nationalities have not been officially disclosed. Police have not yet reported any arrests or suspects.
