Bali Nightlife Guide: Clubs and Party Spots

Bali's nightlife is spread across a few areas, each with its own character: in Canggu people dance in a basement or on the sand, in Seminyak at clubs with international line-ups, on the Bukit parties start at sunset, and Kuta still has its old clubbing street. Over the past two years the island's scene has changed noticeably: Zumana opened in Kuta, the third Mexicola opened in Bingin, and Savaya rose to fifth place in the DJ Mag world ranking. Vault is an underground basement club with a minimalist interior and the feel of a European warehouse. There's no beachy vibe here: the focus is on the dance floor, the sound system and the music. Local and international DJs play, and parties go on until morning.

Music: hip-hop, techno, R&B, Afro and urban.

Entry: around 200,000 rupiah per person, usually including a drink.

Opening hours: Monday and Wednesday–Saturday, 22:00–04:00; closed Tuesday and Sunday.

Atlas Super Club is one of the biggest clubs on the island: a high-ceilinged hall with brick walls and an overhead structure that looks like clockwork. The emphasis is on sound and light shows. Steve Aoki, Timmy Trumpet, Blasterjaxx and Krewella have all played here.

Music: EDM, R&B, hip-hop, house, techno, Afrobeat and amapiano.

Entry: around 150,000 rupiah on average; free on some weeknights, up to 300,000 for certain parties.

MESA is a three-level club in Berawa. The club room with a DJ area and LED screens is on the second level, with a lounge above it and an open-air rooftop at the top. The interior is dark, with bright lighting and Aztec motifs. What really sets it apart is the music: hip-hop, R&B and African music. Almost every night has a theme: French Party, Afro Fusion, and nights of Afrobeats and Amapiano, hip-hop, R&B and UK Sounds.

The Shady Pig is a speakeasy bar and club behind an inconspicuous door: you need a password to get in, which is posted on the bar's Instagram. The interior references the underground bars of the 1920s. Until late evening it's a bar, and after 23:00 it becomes a full-on club. Local DJ crews play, and the crowd has more island residents and expats than tourists. On Sundays there's the Royale party with hip-hop and Afro House.

Motel Mexicola in Canggu is a Mexican restaurant and bar that turns into a loud party as the evening goes on. The space holds 380 guests and is full of colour, painted tiles and decorative altars. The night starts with dinner, tacos and cocktails, and later people move to the bar and the dance floor. The menu features Mexican food, tequila, mezcal and a wide range of cocktails.

Music: popular dance tracks, disco, house, Latin.

Luigi’s Hot Pizza is a pizzeria known for more than just its pizza. On Mondays it hosts Metto Monday with the PNNY collective, and on Fridays there's a party with Say Less. Things kick off early, before sunset.

Old Man’s is one of the old-timers of Canggu nightlife: this bar by Batu Bolong beach has been open for more than ten years and started out as a meeting place for the surf community and expats. During the day people come here to eat and drink after the beach, and in the evening the DJ sets, live music and parties begin.

Almost every day has its own event: Dirty Ol' Wednesday with beer pong tournaments on Wednesdays, Block Party on Fridays, Not Dead Yet on Saturdays and Dirty Disco on Sundays.

Miss Fish is a Japanese restaurant with a dinner-to-party concept. It serves modern Japanese cuisine, sushi and sashimi, with omakase taking a special place, and there are occasional themed dinners with a dress code. After 21:30 the restaurant switches to club mode. Almost every day has its own party: She's With Us on Tuesdays, The Sacred Flame by El Amor on Wednesdays, Yokai on Thursdays and Sundaze on Sundays.

Morabito Art Villa is an oceanfront art villa created by French designer Pascal Morabito. Here the art isn't decoration but the point: there's a collection of Indonesian and contemporary works, with paintings and sculptures placed around the garden and galleries. There's a restaurant, a pool, suites and an oceanside area with sunbeds, and the villa hosts exhibitions, yoga and Sunday brunches.

On Fridays Morabito switches to Signature Fridays parties with resident and guest DJs. Over the years, Dixon, Agoria, M.A.N.D.Y., Lee Foss, Viken Arman, Deer Jade, Emanuel Satie, Matthias Meyer, Kiko Navarro and Amine K have played here.

FINNS long ago outgrew the beach club format: there are parties every day, not just at weekends. The beachside grounds have three pools, eleven bars and four separate party areas, from the main FINNS Beach Party to the private VIP zone. In the first half of the day it's a beach club with DJs; towards evening vocalists join in, and after sunset everything shifts to the dance floors.

Several times a year FINNS puts on big events: the club's anniversary, New Year and special parties. Skrillex, Diplo, deadmau5, Fatboy Slim, Flume, Duke Dumont, Martin Solveig, Gorgon City, CamelPhat, Elderbrook, Jax Jones and Hayden James have played here.

The Back Room is tucked away behind Mason restaurant on Batu Bolong and is barely visible from the street. Downstairs is a small, dimly lit space with a bar, leather sofas, a pool table and a dance floor. Compared with Canggu's big clubs it feels more intimate, and the focus is on music and cocktails. Antigone, Demuja, Geco, Sara Siu and Smooth Operators have played here.

Desa Kitsuné is a joint project between the French-Japanese brand Kitsuné and Savaya Group, which opened in Canggu in 2024. The name refers to the Indonesian word desa, meaning “village”: spread over five thousand square metres are Café Kitsuné, the Mediterranean restaurant Ina Ré, a Maison Kitsuné shop, a pool and a large garden where the parties take place.

DJs play several times a week, and the venue stays open latest on Tuesdays and Fridays. Several times a month there are special parties with big-name artists: ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Gerd Janson and Tijana T have played here. There's also a separate series, Savaya Bali x Desa Kitsuné.

Sand Bar is where people head after midnight, once the main party is over. There's no club room: the bar sits right on Batu Bolong beach and people dance on the sand. There are no headliners, elaborate sets or shows either — just DJs, a bar, the ocean and a chance to keep the night going.

Bella is a restaurant serving modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, where dinners turn into parties. There's no separate dance floor: the DJs, bar, open kitchen and tables all share one space, so people start dancing right in the middle of dinner.

Each day follows its own script. Thursdays bring Taverna Thursday with music, dancing and plate smashing; Before Friday combines DJ sets with live vocals; and Ethnic Saturday is held by candlelight with live ethnic music. There are also Taverna Mondays and Bella Wednesdays.

A club on the Potato Head grounds, created together with DJ Harvey. Klymax was conceived as a space for music and the dance floor, with the architecture and interior designed around the acoustics. The club was developed by Potato Head Design Studio and the Dutch firm OMA, and the sound system was designed by audio engineer George Stavrou. The room is acoustically treated, the dance floor sits on a sprung structure, and the DJ booth is isolated from the room.

The interior is understated: wood, soft lighting and a one-metre disco ball made in Bali. The club is open only on Fridays and Saturdays; on other days the space hosts other formats, such as a listening bar, film screenings and special events.

Motel Mexicola in Seminyak was the chain's first location in Bali. The Mexico City–inspired space holds around 400 guests, with bright tiles and murals, neon, Mexican iconography, a courtyard and several bar areas. During the day and early evening people come for Mexican food and cocktails, and later at night the restaurant turns into a party with DJs and dancing.

Red Ruby is a club in Petitenget where residents and guest DJs play house and techno. The programme depends on the day of the week: Tuesdays are hip-hop nights, Thursdays are Afro House, and on other days you'll hear various styles of house and techno. In front of the club is Red Ruby Terrace, with a restaurant and bar.

Opening hours: the club runs from 23:00 to 05:00 and later; the terrace is open around the clock.

The Iron Fairies was dreamed up by Australian designer Ashley Sutton, inspired by the time he spent working in the iron ore mines of Western Australia. Hence the interior: iron, wood, leather, parts of old machinery and lots of little fairy figurines. The first Iron Fairies opened in Bangkok, followed by Hong Kong and other Asian cities, including Bali.

There's music almost all week. On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays a live band plays — currently Brewok, with funk and rock — and then DJs take the night forward. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays DJ sets start at 21:00, and those are also the nights of the Dust and TINKA parties.

Les Toilettes is French for “the toilets”, and the owners took the name literally: above the dance floor hangs a huge toilet covered in mirror mosaic that works as a disco ball. The interior includes an area with vertical mirrored panels and light strips, and red neon images of toilets on the walls carry the theme further.

There's no fixed party schedule: the line-up changes every week, and the programme is announced for the next few days. Residents and guest artists play.

The Brazilian theme is obvious straight away: there's a statue of Christ the Redeemer inside, and the name refers to Rio's favelas. The interior matches — graffiti, vintage furniture, small courtyards and waterfalls. La Favela opened in 2012; there are parties every night, and the music isn't limited to one genre.

On the third floor is Attika, a part of La Favela with a different concept: a speakeasy with dim lighting, dark wood and vintage details. While downstairs it's hits, hip-hop and R&B, Attika is mostly house and techno.

The main feature of ShiShi is its two dance floors with different music. The second floor plays house, techno and EDM and has an LED ceiling and a Void sound system. The third floor plays R&B and hip-hop, from classics of the genre to current hits. You can move freely between floors and switch music throughout the night.

ShiShi has three levels in total: the first has an Asian restaurant and a bar, and the two upper levels are taken up by dance floors. On Fridays and Saturdays guest DJs take over the decks, and on Wednesdays there's Ladies Night. The club has made DJ Mag's top hundred for several years running.

Da Maria is an Italian restaurant that opened in 2016; its white-and-blue interior was designed by Roman architects inspired by the Amalfi Coast of the 1960s. Sunday is the big day here: Da Maria Sundays take place every week with guest DJs, house and disco. On Wednesdays the music switches to hip-hop and R&B. There's no separate dance floor — people dance right in the main dining room and around the tables.

A series of hard techno parties at Black Box club in Kerobokan. The venue is easy to spot: it's in the Gate 88 complex, which has a real aeroplane on its roof. Terminus uses a 360-degree format, with the DJ playing in the middle of the dance floor, practically right among the crowd. The line-up changes every week.

Motel Mexicola in Uluwatu is the brand's newest and largest venue in Bali, which opened in Bingin in July 2026. It draws on the look of Baja California in Mexico: around 2500 square metres with several indoor and outdoor areas, bars, a stage and a DJ booth, and its most striking feature is a 21-metre tower. The interior has stone walls, arches, fountains, Mexican tiles and murals. The format will be familiar from the other Mexicolas: the restaurant gradually turns into an evening party with music and dancing.

The Shady Pig in Uluwatu is a speakeasy bar and club with dim lighting, red seating and a rooftop you can head to as early as sunset. By late evening the main action moves to the dance floor. Each night has its own programme: Groove Archive with minimal and tech house on Thursdays, Sazón with Latin Tech House on Fridays, and Pulse with indie dance and Afro House on Sundays. Saturdays are given over to rotating parties and guest DJs.

Tabu is a restaurant and club in Uluwatu with a tropical interior and a menu that combines Japanese and Latin American cuisine. Later in the evening it switches to club mode, with DJs and performances by local and international artists. Each day has its own musical direction, from Afro House and Latin to different shades of house, and the line-ups and themes change regularly.

Single Fin is a clifftop bar above Suluban that Uluwatu's nightlife revolves around. The main event of the week is Sunday Sessions: DJs start in the afternoon, the crowd gathers by sunset, and the party goes on late into the night. The other big day is Wednesday, again with DJs on the edge of the cliff. The rest of the week it's an ordinary surf bar with a view.

Ulu Cliffhouse is a clifftop pool club with music all day: chilled lounge and tropical house during the day, and house, disco and techno towards sunset. There are two bars, a dance floor and its own residents. There's no late-night programme — the club closes at 21:00, so it's a spot for the sunset part of the evening, and you'll have to carry on somewhere else.

One of the island's biggest electronic music venues and a clifftop day club in Uluwatu. In 2026 Savaya took fifth place in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs ranking and was named Asia's number one club for the third year running. Amelie Lens, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Bedouin, Mahmut Orhan, Snakehips and Da Capo play here. The line-up changes every week, and the main events take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

An old-Kuta club that many remember from the days when Jalan Legian was the centre of the island's nightlife. Over the years it has closed and changed format several times, so today's Sky Garden is no longer the multi-storey complex it once was.

There are parties every night, with music aimed at a broad crowd. The DJs change regularly, and there are themed parties and special programmes.

Zumana is a Savaya Group project that opened on Kuta beach in August 2026. Kuta was chosen for a reason: the area where the island's tourism and nightlife began is being presented here in a new format.

The first thing that catches your eye is Zenía, a ten-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper: a female figure with closed eyes and plants growing inside it. AWEN, Aaron Sevilla, Laolu, Marten Lou, Topic, The Martinez Brothers, Satori and ARTBAT have already appeared on the bill.

The Blue Door hides behind an inconspicuous blue door in central Ubud: a darkened space with a dance floor, neon lighting and DJ decks. Separately, there's a Beer Garden with live music, sports screenings and a grill, open every day from the morning. The club part runs Thursday to Sunday, with DJs starting at around 22:00.

Donna is a restaurant and bar on Monkey Forest Road with a lounge on the second floor. Downstairs it serves Mediterranean food, tapas and cocktails; upstairs there's a club night with a DJ on Fridays and live music on Saturdays.
