On July 9th, two motorbikes collided with a six-wheeled truck on the Singaraja—Seririt road in the village of Celukbuluh. A 34-year-old British citizen, Luke Elleston, died, and his 32-year-old compatriot Mohammed Ali Gele Abdullahi sustained severe injuries.

According to the police, both motorcyclists were traveling in the same direction behind the truck, which eyewitnesses reported was moving slowly. Elleston couldn't brake in time and crashed into the back of the vehicle. Abdullahi, who was following him, also collided with the truck but likely managed to slow down. It is being investigated whether the rear lights of the truck were working.
The truck driver did not stop and fled the scene. The police are searching for him and do not rule out that he might not have noticed the incident.
Elleston passed away shortly after being taken to Parama Sidhi Clinic in Singaraja; doctors reported multiple injuries. Abdullahi was first hospitalized in the same clinic, then transferred to BIMC Nusa Dua for specialized treatment. His condition remains serious but stable.
The police urge witnesses to provide any information about the wanted truck.
This is not the first instance where foreigners have crashed into a stationary or slow-moving truck from behind. Please be careful, especially on unlit road sections.
