On 12 and 13 December, Candidasa will host the Bali Coast Trail, a cross-country running race, also known as a trail run.

The 7, 15, 30 and 50 km courses run along the coast and across hills, plantations and roads through villages.
The 50 and 30 km races take place on Saturday. The long distance starts at four in the morning and has a 15-hour time limit, while the 30 km race has a ten-hour limit. The 15 and 7 km races are on Sunday. All distances start and finish at Rest Area Candidasa.

This is the first Bali Coast Trail. It is organized by the running community Bali Trail Running, which has been holding trail races in Kintamani, near Mount Batur, for seven years. For the coastal event, it hopes to attract 2,000 participants from Indonesia and abroad.
Registration is open on the race website until 10 November, but may close earlier if places run out. Foreigners pay from 590,000 rupiah for the 7 km to 1,090,000 for the 50 km, while locals pay 100,000 less. Entry fees are non-refundable, but a registration can be transferred to another runner for 200,000 rupiah.
According to the schedule, race packs will be handed out on 9 December in Denpasar and on 11 and 12 December at the start area.
Some hotels and restaurants have agreed with the organizers to offer special rates to runners who book through them. Booking a room directly costs the usual price. The organizers recommend staying near Candidasa. The local hotel association is already seeing an increase in bookings for 11–13 December, especially near the start area.
