For the New Year holidays, Bali Airport is strengthening preparations: expanding check-in and waiting areas, adding self-check-in counters, trolleys, and new seating.

Against the backdrop of the increasing flow of passengers, the police have sent patrols to the Ngurah Rai terminals. Officers are on duty in arrival and departure halls, monitoring entrances, exits, waiting, and boarding areas — assisting passengers while also tracking suspicious movements of people and goods. The goal is not only to maintain order but also to create a strong barrier against drugs and other prohibited goods.
Inspector I Gede Suka Artana emphasizes: “We are not just guarding, we are giving people a sense of security. And most importantly, we are blocking any routes for drug smuggling.”
According to him, in recent years, syndicates have been more actively testing air routes and trying to enter Bali. Therefore, control has been strengthened at vulnerable points and preemptive operations are being launched.
The police are working closely with Angkasa Pura aviation security, customs, immigration, quarantine, and the National Narcotics Agency (BNNP). Such cooperation keeps airport security at a high level.
Ngurah Rai International Airport entered the list of the busiest airports in Indonesia again in October 2025. Over 2 million people passed through in a month, 64% of whom were foreigners.
