Brazilian YB arrived on Emirates flight from Dubai on July 13th: X-ray revealed a double bottom in the suitcase containing three kilograms of cocaine. He expected to receive 400 million rupiahs (≈23,000 USD) for the delivery, receiving 500 USD in advance. The courier is charged under Articles 112(2) and 113(2) of Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics, facing 5–15 years.
On the same day, South African LN was detained, having arrived via Singapore Airlines through Singapore: 991g of methamphetamine were found in her underwear. Her 'fee' was the same 400 million rupiahs after delivery. She admitted she was to deliver the drugs to an unknown person in Bali at the instruction of someone named Cindy. As soon as the clients realized the operation was exposed, the coordinators deleted the correspondence and disappeared.
The Balinese division of the National Narcotics Agency emphasizes that the island remains not only a tourist paradise but also a convenient transit hub for international drug cartels. In recent months, law enforcement officers have uncovered several schemes for the distribution of illegal substances.
