Atmosphere:
KOI is an Asian restaurant that until recently had only one location - on Batu Bolong Street - but in March opened the doors of a cozy new establishment on bustling Berawa.
Bright interior, comfortable soft sofas, handmade dishes and an inviting counter with fresh salads and desserts - it's a pleasure to linger here.
The room is small, but the tables are arranged very comfortably and conveniently. There is a small open terrace, from where you can assess the terraces of guests sitting on the terraces in neighboring Italian restaurants )
At the entrance you are met by smiling, beautiful and mobile hostess Tomomi - the soul of this place, brand-chef of the kitchen and idea inspirer. Amazing mix of different cuisines in KOI menu is her handiwork: she wanted each guest to find a dish to his liking, at the same time - as healthy and nourishing as possible. And she succeeded :)
Kitchen:
KOI cuisine is a unique mix of Japanese, European and Asian cuisines.
There are 5 kinds of salads: with mango and tuna, bacon and poached egg, chicken breast and yogurt sauce, buckwheat noodles and beans, balls of sweet potatoes and avocado.
The portions are impressive and the presentation is beautiful.
But, of course, the focus here is on Japanese cuisine: the eyes run wild! Sushi, nigiri, temaki (hand-rolls), maki, sashimi, rolls... Everything is incredibly delicious and beautiful! Fresh tuna and salmon, creamy avocado, shrimp tempura, unagi, and even tempeh and tofu - you won't find such combinations anywhere else.
We advise you to pay attention to Salmon aburi roll (roll with fried salmon and avocado), sashimi mix (fish melts in your mouth), Vegetarian temaki with vegetables and quinoa and maki with grilled tuna.
In addition to Japanese classics and salads, KOI has breakfasts: very successful smoothie-bowls, oatmeal on coconut milk and royal acai mix with acai berries, granola and mascarpone cheese.
A large selection of unsweetened breakfasts - all kinds of eggs and a healthy quinoa salad.
All day - sandwiches on crispy ciabatta, toast (try the rainbow toast with chocolate sauce) and pancakes with berries or green tea.
There's a great selection of grilled fish - highly recommend the Miso Tuna, tuna marinated in miso sauce with roasted vegetables.
Meat-eaters won't be disappointed either: there's grilled chicken with mustard sauce or an impressive beef patty burger.
Drinks:
Kombucha! It has become - unexpectedly! - the perfect and very sparkling accompaniment to fresh sushi. There are as many as nine kinds on the menu, from sour Mojito to sweet berry mix.
There's also a great selection of smoothies and juices.
Good strong coffee (coconut and soy milk available), Japanese matcha and jasmine tea.
