How it's calculated: they take the 100 largest airports and the 100 busiest international hubs, analyzing where the most international connections are. The analysis period is from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.
Results: Soekarno-Hatta ranks 23rd in the global top 50 with 14,585 connections and 103 destinations. Ngurah Rai ranks 20th in the top 25 low-cost megahubs with 2,843 connections and 68 destinations.
Passenger traffic from January to September 2025: Soekarno-Hatta saw around 40 million passengers (27 million domestic and 13 million international). Ngurah Rai had about 18 million (11.5 million international and 6.5 million domestic).
As a result, Indonesia is establishing itself as an important aviation hub in Asia. This is more convenient for passengers and significantly boosts tourism and business.
