Badung Regency has signed one of the largest road infrastructure development agreements. The state-owned company PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) is allocating IDR 2.83 trillion (around USD 180 million) for the construction and upgrading of Kuta's transport network.

The funding is part of the district's accelerated road network development program, included in the Regional Plan for 2025–2029, with a total budget of around IDR 15 trillion.
Badung is the heart of Bali tourism: it encompasses Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, and Nusa Dua. This area is home to world-class hotels, restaurants, and beaches, and is also where traffic jams most frequently occur.
The project covers nine strategic road sections totaling 11.8 km in North and South Kuta. The aim is to reduce travel time, improve logistics for hotels and tourist facilities, and ease congestion on the island's key routes. An increase in jobs, tax revenues from hotels and restaurants, and an additional boost for small businesses are expected.
The loan is granted at a rate of about 5.7%. The financing scheme allows Badung's administration to maintain budget flexibility and allocate part of the funds to other priority tasks.
Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arta stated: "The roads we are building today are the path to a more prosperous, connected, and modern future for Badung."
Upon completion, roads in tourist areas will be wider, safer, and faster. This should reduce congestion at the airport, in Kuta and Canggu, and facilitate transfers.
