In 2025, a new section of road and a bridge were officially opened in Bali to ease traffic congestion and improve road safety. The project was implemented on the Singaraja - Mengwitani route, in the Sukasada area of Buleleng district.

Work began in 2023 under the guidance of Bali's BBPJN East Java and Bali division. The total project cost was 90.28 billion rupiahs. In 2023, Governor Wayan Koster personally laid the foundation stone of the construction.
The infrastructure includes 395 meters of new road and a 160-meter bridge. Additionally, the roadway geometry was fully corrected. Previously, the section had dangerous curves with a slope of up to 28% and a radius of only 12.5 m. Now the slope has been reduced to 10% and the radius increased to 30 m.
The total number of curves has been reduced from 58 to 21, which means 37 dangerous turns have been eliminated. The project is expected not only to improve safety but also to enhance transport connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the island.
