Not all petrol has become more expensive. The price of Pertalite remains unchanged at 10,000 rupiah per litre. Subsidised Solar diesel still costs 6,800 rupiah.
Pertamina explains the increase as part of regular price adjustments for non-subsidised fuel. The company refers to the government formula, global oil prices and the market price of fuel.
Pertamax Green 95 has also become more expensive, rising from 12,900 to 17,000 rupiah per litre. According to the company, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex were not increased as part of this change.
Pertamina separately clarified that this is not due to a fuel shortage. The company says supplies of Pertamax and Pertamax Green remain stable.
