Fuel Scam on Bali: Gas Station Busted for Mixing Cheap Fuel into Premium Tanks!

At one of Denpasar’s gas stations, workers were caught pouring cheaper, government-subsidized Pertalite fuel into tanks designated for the more expensive Pertamax.
A Denpasar police representative stated that four employees of the gas station are currently being questioned. The fraud was uncovered after local residents reported suspicious activity.
A fuel truck was seen offloading fuel into an underground tank with a blue lid — typically used for Pertamax. Then, the driver and his assistant continued pouring fuel into another tank with a white lid, which is designated for subsidized Pertalite. The police are now awaiting an expert analysis to confirm the witnesses’ accounts.
Pertamina representative Ahad Rahedi reported that the company conducted an inspection of the station. He noted that the fuel offloading began without any oversight from the gas station’s management. Due to this violation, Pertamina immediately imposed sanctions. Fuel deliveries to the station have been completely suspended until May 10, 2025.
Previously, Denpasar police had already sealed another gas station (54 801 32) on the same street over suspicions of manipulating subsidized fuel.
