A two-week police operation 'Patuh 2025' ('Obedience') has started across Indonesia, including Bali.
From July 14 to 27, traffic police across all regions will check driver discipline and prepare for Road Safety Day, which is celebrated annually on September 19. The operation combines preventive measures, educational work, and strict sanctions: in the early days, officers will conduct informative discussions, but dangerous violators will face tough measures immediately, emphasized Commissioner Aryes Syahbudin, head of the operational headquarters.
The main aims of the operation are to reduce accidents and instill order on the roads. Special attention will be paid to riding without an SNI-standard helmet or seatbelt, phone use while driving, underage driving, lack of a SIM driver's license or STNK registration certificate, overloading and exceeding dimensions (ODOL), loud illegal exhausts (knalpot brong), fake or non-standard plates, as well as turning against traffic and ignoring road signs. Such actions often lead to severe accidents.
Driving without a license is now particularly risky. Foreigners who have not yet obtained a SIM should do so as soon as possible. Legal Indonesia Agency fully assists in the process. Additionally, Indonesian licenses can serve as identification.
