Police Increase Road Patrols in Bali’s Tourist Areas Until Feb 15

The Badung district police have launched the road operation 'Keselamatan Agung 2026'. It will run for 14 days — from February 2 to 15, 2026 — and will include tourist areas.

According to the police, the priority is accident-prone areas and chronic traffic jam points, especially where there is currently a changed traffic scheme. In Badung, the southern part of the district and the Northern Kuta area are specifically mentioned, including the Kerobokan and Kerobokan Kelod corridor, as well as the 'entrance' routes from Tabanan and several key interchanges.
The operation format is declared as prevention plus law enforcement. There will be explanations and work 'on the ground', but if violations are detected — punishment will follow. In Badung, the police are focusing on the electronic system for recording violations (ETLE), while road crews remain available to respond to obvious violations. A total of 1,492 officers are participating in the operation.
Bali police list violations that most often lead to serious accidents: driving without a helmet and without a seatbelt, talking/texting on the phone while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and other dangerous maneuvers.
And, of course, they will be checking for the validity of the required category of driving license. If you haven't yet obtained an Indonesian driving license, we recommend contacting the company Legal Indonesia — they can assist you with it.
