Kerobokan Traffic Update: New Route from Canggu to Seminyak

Residents of Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta will have to adapt to new routes. Starting Sunday, December 14, the traffic scheme on Kerobokan — the main road between these areas — has been completely reorganized. Initially for a month, in a test mode.

The streets around key intersections of Kerobokan, including Petitenget and Batubelig, have become one-way.
Another important change: it's no longer possible to directly exit from Raya Semer (the 'traffic light with the plane') onto Kerobokan towards Seminyak.
The Department of Transport has published a scheme showing that the road to Seminyak will now take more time, and drivers — both locals and foreigners — will need more than a day to get accustomed to the new rules.
Changes to the streets:
  1. Jl. Gunung Tangkuban Perahu — one-way east • Traffic only from west to east towards Simpang Pengubengan Kangin (intersections 1–4).
  2. Jl. Raya Kerobokan — one-way north • From Simpang Petitenget (intersections 4, 11, 12) the flow only goes north, towards Simpang Semer.
  3. Jl. Raya Kerobokan (Petitenget Route) — one-way south • From Simpang Petitenget (intersections 4, 10, 9) traffic only goes south, towards Simpang Oberoi.
  4. Jl. Petitenget • Cars coming from the north (Petitenget/Batubelig) to intersection No. 5 cannot turn right. Only left towards Kerobokan or straight — follow the signs.
  5. Jl. Merta Agung — one-way south • Section from intersections 13 → 3 now operates only for exit to the south.
  6. Jl. Pengubengan Kauh — one-way east • From intersections 12, 13 → 14 traffic only goes east, with mandatory right turns at designated spots.
  7. Jl. Beraban — one-way west • From intersection 10 → 7 traffic only goes west.

Previously, the Bali police warned that temporary traffic schemes would be introduced before the New Year's holidays to ease road congestion. Now these changes have become a reality in Kerobokan.
Authorities emphasize that the new traffic scheme in Kerobokan is still experimental: it has been introduced as a temporary measure for about a month, after which the Department of Transport and the police will assess the traffic and driver complaints and decide which changes to keep and what to adjust.
