New Seaside Walkway to Link Canggu and Cemagi

Bali is preparing to create a new tourist artery: a wide pedestrian zone will be laid along the coast from Jerman Beach in Kuta to the village of Cemagi in Badung district, where visitors can walk, exercise, and relax in designated areas.

"We need infrastructure that is both safe for locals and convenient for tourists," emphasized Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa, presenting the project in Mangupura.
Particular attention will be paid to Cemagi itself and the area around the sacred Batu Ngaus Temple. Plans include restoring the shoreline after erosion, creating a promenade, redesigning adjacent buildings, and relocating the cultural center outside the temple complex. The new stage will host regular Kecak dance performances, providing additional income sources for residents and attracting visitors.
The pedestrian zone will connect Gold Coast, Canggu, and Cemagi into a unified infrastructure. Developers promise a space comparable to the famous Australian coast: spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable. By 2026, they plan to streamline the activities of beach vendors and create civilized conditions for them.
The project is a logical continuation of the successes of neighboring areas — Tibubenenga, Berawa, and Canggu — and aims to elevate Bali's western coast to world-class resort standards. "We want not just to upgrade existing facilities, but to build a modern tourist zone capable of competing with the best destinations in the world," concluded Adi Arnawa.
