A new Bali Marine Water Taxi service has launched in the popular Benoa (Nusa Dua) resort area on Bali. This tourist water taxi connects the Tanjung Benoa, Serangan, and Pedungan (South Denpasar) ports, marking just one of many marine routes Bali plans to develop in the coming months.
Tanjung Benoa is experiencing a surge in popularity. Last weekend, the Benoa port welcomed three large cruise ships simultaneously, and the area is undergoing significant changes. More than $80 million has been allocated to transform the port into Bali’s new maritime hub. The Bali Marine Water Taxi is one of many initiatives aimed at making Benoa more accessible and attractive to tourists.
This new water taxi service will help reduce travel time for visitors exploring Tanjung Benoa, Serangan, and Pedungan.
• Tanjung Benoa is known as Bali’s top water sports destination and offers many family-friendly hotels.

• Serangan is an emerging travel spot where visitors can experience traditional Balinese fishing village life. Plans are also in place to develop a tourist village, inspired by other successful traditional villages on Bali.
This is not Bali’s first water taxi service. GoBoat was the first company to introduce a water taxi between Canggu and Uluwatu, operating four daily trips from Uluwatu to Canggu and five from Canggu to Uluwatu. GoBoat also offers a service between Jimbaran and Canggu.

Another marine taxi service is set to launch soon, connecting Ngurah Rai International Airport to Nusa Penida. Since the airport is located just meters from the shore, this service will offer a more convenient way to reach Nusa Penida without dealing with traffic congestion in Sanur or Padang Bai.
The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has also announced plans to introduce marine taxi routes from Bali’s airport to Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, and Canggu. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to ease traffic congestion in Bali’s busiest tourist areas. Future plans include expanding routes to other coastal destinations, introducing eco-friendly boats, and enhancing digital booking systems.
