The legendary alternative rock band has finally resumed touring. After the tragic death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017, Linkin Park halted their concert activity, performing only a few tribute shows in his memory. Over the years, the band received various proposals, including continuing concerts with a hologram of Chester as the frontman. However, despite their desire to create new material and perform, the musicians rejected such offers.
“I can’t even wrap my head around that idea. I’ve heard people suggest it, but it’s absolutely impossible. Don’t even dream about it,” said Mike Shinoda, the band’s co-leader and second vocalist.
In 2019, news broke that the band was working on new material, but it wasn’t until 2024 that Linkin Park, having fully recovered from their loss, officially added vocalist Emily Armstrong to their lineup. She collaborated with the band on their new material. As expected, this move sparked a wave of mixed emotions and debates among fans. The group also welcomed a new drummer, Colin Brittain, though his addition didn’t stir much controversy among Linkin Park enthusiasts.
Regardless of the public’s reaction, the band has announced a world tour titled From Zero, which will run until the end of 2025. Indonesia is in luck—Jakarta is the only city in Southeast Asia the iconic band will visit. The last time Linkin Park performed in the country was in 2011 during their A Thousand Suns tour.
The concert in Indonesia’s capital is scheduled for February 16, 2025. Indonesia will be the fourth country on the tour after Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Japan.
Tickets for the show will go on sale on November 18 on the official website. The venue for Linkin Park’s performance has not yet been announced. Stay tuned, as the best tickets for such concerts tend to sell out quickly.
The band has sparked excitement for their new material with the release of the single Emptiness Machine. The single also includes two other tracks, Over Each Other and From Zero. Recently, the band released a YouTube video for another new song, Two-Faced. The new tracks remain true to the band’s signature style, featuring powerful riffs, intense rhythmic verses, and heavy yet melodic, unforgettable choruses.
