The legendary American punk rock band Green Day is returning to Jakarta after 29 years with a concert scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Carnaval Ancol. The performance will be part of the celebration for the 10th anniversary of Hammersonic, Southeast Asia's largest metal and rock music festival.
Even if you aren’t familiar with the name Green Day, you’ve likely heard their iconic hits such as Boulevard of Broken Dreams, When I Come Around, and Wake Me Up When September Ends. Concerts from such renowned bands are always major events that leave an impression even on those who aren’t avid listeners. Green Day, one of the most influential punk rock bands in the world, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 and is credited with bringing punk rock into the American mainstream during the 1990s. During their Jakarta concert, they are expected to perform about 40 of their greatest hits.
Although the concert is still months away, ticket sales have already begun, and Indonesian rock fans are sure to snap up the best deals quickly. If you’re eager to attend, it’s recommended to buy tickets soon. Sales started on August 27 through the official website, with several categories already sold out. Current ticket prices start at 2 million rupiah.
In addition to Green Day, another famous group, Maroon 5, will also be performing in Jakarta in February. Their concert is set for February 1, 2025, as part of their Asian tour, which will also take them to Manila (January 29), Bangkok (February 3), Tokyo (February 6), Kuala Lumpur (February 12), and Kaohsiung, Taiwan (February 14). Maroon 5 is known for chart-topping hits like Moves Like Jagger, Girls Like You, She Will Be Loved, and Sugar.
The Maroon 5 concert in Jakarta will take place at the Jakarta International Stadium. Promoter PK Entertainment announced the following ticket sales schedule:
- Pre-sale starts Tuesday, September 24, at 10:00 AM
- Mandiri pre-sale on Wednesday, September 25, at 10:00 AM
- General sale on Friday, September 27, at 10:00 AM WIB
Ticket prices range from IDR 1,450,000 to IDR 6,000,000, with a special early entry package available for IDR 4,200,000.
