Indonesia looks set to host one of its biggest music events in recent years this autumn. On October 24, 2026, Kanye West (Ye) is scheduled to perform in Jakarta for the first time.
The concert will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, with Jakarta becoming the only Southeast Asian city included in the artist’s official world tour.
Concert promoter Raw Vision Collective is promising a world-class production. A massive signature Globe Stage will be built for the performance, offering a 360-degree view. Raw Vision Collective CEO Micha Ananda said he personally met with Kanye West and his team. According to Ananda, the artist gave three reasons for choosing Indonesia for his first-ever performance in the country.
The first is the audience. For West, what matters is not simply the size of the crowd, but how deeply people connect with the ideas behind his music. According to the organizers, the artist sees Indonesia as more than just a major market — he views it as a country with a rich musical heritage. One example they highlighted is gamelan, Indonesia’s traditional ensemble music, which has had a significant influence on musicians and composers around the world.
The second reason is Jakarta’s location. The Indonesian capital is relatively easy to reach from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Australia. Organizers expect the concert to attract fans from across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The third is Jakarta’s established concert infrastructure. The city has hosted major international artists on numerous occasions, while Gelora Bung Karno Stadium can accommodate around 77,000 spectators.
Ticket prices start at IDR 1,875,000 and are available through the official YeJakarta website. Installment plans are also available, along with packages that include hotel accommodation for fans travelling from other cities and countries.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Ye has become one of the most influential figures in contemporary pop culture. Beyond music, he is known for his work in fashion, creative direction and large-scale visual productions. If the concert goes ahead as planned, Indonesian audiences will have their first opportunity to experience one of his shows live.
