Sanur Internet Disruptions Possible During Cable Relocation

In Sanur, internet cables are continuing to be moved into the unified underground SJUT-IPT system. In the coming months, this may affect subscribers on three streets: Danau Buyan, Danau Toba and Danau Tamblingan.

SJUT-IPT is Denpasar’s shared passive telecommunications infrastructure. Communication cables are being removed from the streets and transferred into a single system.
Work on the three streets in Sanur was completed back in May 2026. Since 15 May, the municipal company Perumda BPS has been offering providers the option to connect to the new infrastructure.
Under Denpasar regulations, operators must switch to SJUT-IPT no later than three months after the system becomes available. Old networks must be removed within one month of the switch.
The practical stage is now beginning: inspections, the migration of subscribers and the dismantling of old lines. In Sanur, this work is planned to take place from mid-August to mid-September 2026.
If a provider fails to connect to SJUT-IPT in time, its network may be temporarily suspended, disconnected or dismantled. Operators may also face administrative fines and have their permits revoked.
As a result, internet disruptions in this area may be linked to the transition to the new infrastructure and penalties for providers that have delayed the migration.
