Police in Badung have temporarily halted the construction of a hotel on the coast of Cemagi village in Bali. The project did not have the PBG permit for commercial construction, even though work was in full swing. Inspectors demanded that the builders leave the site and sealed it off with caution tape.

The construction sparked heated debates on social media: the building was erected at the mouth of a river flowing into Cemagi beach, casting doubt on the legality of the project. The future hotel does not yet have a name, and the developer lacks documents confirming the right to engage in commercial activities.
The head of the Badung police investigation department, Ida Bagus Ratu, clarified that authorities had initially issued the PBG for building a private residence, but the owner unilaterally converted the project into a hotel. Ignoring the official order to halt construction, the contractor continued building, forcing the authorities to take decisive measures.
"If the developer presents a new permit, we will remove the seals; otherwise — sorry," emphasized Ida Bagus Ratu.
Previously, the Badung police investigated violations involving the construction of a residential complex on Babadan Street in Pererenan: the Department of Public Works and Housing sent written warnings three times, suspecting the construction was taking place in a sustainable agricultural zone.
Not long ago, land issues arose in the so-called Russian village ParQ, where land intended for agricultural use was involved. Due to part of the project being built on such land, access to the apartment complex, café, and shops on the premises was restricted, and the founder, Andrey Frey, was detained. He is now free, and the ownership of ParQ has changed.
