Starting August 1, 2025, Garuda Indonesia began operating daily flights between Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. The new route aims to make travel between the capital and the island faster and more convenient, while easing congestion at the overcrowded Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Halim is closer to the eastern and central parts of Jakarta. For residents of these areas, as well as business travelers and premium tourists, this new flight saves travel time and avoids unnecessary hassle.
The airport is only 12 km from the city center, where consular offices of most countries are located, and 22 km from the Gambir and Pasar Senen train stations, from which passenger trains depart throughout the island of Java.
On average, a ticket from Jakarta (Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, HLP) to Denpasar (DPS) on a direct flight costs around Rp 1.4–1.6 million for a return trip in economy class if booked in advance and outside peak dates.

During peak season and with late booking, the price may reach Rp 1.8 million or more, while during sales or promotions, it may drop to Rp 1.1–1.2 million.
- Departure from Halim — 17:25, arrival in Bali — 20:30
- Departure from Bali — 20:40, arrival in Halim — 21:35
The flights are operated on a Boeing 737-800NG with 162 passenger seats.
Garuda now operates 77 flights a week between Jakarta and Bali (from Halim and Soekarno-Hatta). A total of 144 flights are operated to/from Denpasar weekly.
Previously, Garuda Indonesia operated flights from Halim to Surabaya and Medan. With the addition of Bali, it has become the third key domestic route directly connected to this airport.
The Halim Perdanakusuma (HLP) – Denpasar (DPS) direct route is also operated by Citilink. Depending on the season and schedule, flights by Pelita Air may also be available on this route.
