In 2024, Garuda Indonesia once again proved it deserves a place among the world’s top airlines. According to AirHelp, a company specializing in protecting air passenger rights, Garuda secured the 13th spot among 109 international airlines.
The AirHelp ranking is more than just a list; it’s a benchmark of quality, reliability, and passenger care. Airlines were evaluated based on three main criteria:
1. On-time performance – how well the airline adheres to its flight schedule.
2. Customer opinion – what passengers think about the service.
3. Claim processing – the efficiency of handling compensation claims.
The analysis covered the period from January 1 to October 31, 2024, utilizing data from passenger surveys in 54 countries and an in-depth review of flight punctuality.
At the top of the rankings is Belgium’s Brussels Airlines, followed by Qatar Airways in second place and United Airlines in third. However, for Indonesia, the standout achievement was Garuda Indonesia’s confident rise to 13th place.
This year has been particularly fruitful for Indonesia’s national carrier:
• In September 2024, Garuda was listed among the “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2024” by Newsweek, ranking 12th in the Transport, Logistics, and Packaging category.
• In August 2024, the airline climbed to 25th place in the Fortune Indonesia 100 rankings, underscoring its growing influence in the market.
These achievements are not coincidental but the outcome of years of dedicated work by the company. Garuda Indonesia has demonstrated its ability to compete with the world’s leading airlines while staying true to Indonesian traditions of hospitality.
