The popular tourist area of Sanur in Bali now has its own public transportation system. The project was announced at the beginning of 2025 and has now come to life. Trans Metro Dewata (TMD) has launched a fleet of six electric buses that have started operating between the main attractions of the area.

Residents and tourists will be able to use the new service completely free of charge throughout August. This is a trial period during which the system's operation will be tested and passenger feedback will be collected.
Shuttles will run on the Segara Ayu — Mertasari route, covering all key points of the area. Main stops include: Sanur Beach, Pasar Sindhu Market, Icon Mall, Hyatt and 101 Hotels, the parking near Mertasari Beach, the SPKLU Danau Poso Charging Station, and the Andaz Hotel. The journey from one end to the other will take 22 minutes.
Each shuttle accommodates 10-12 passengers, making them ideal for the tourist area. Buses will operate from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last trip departing at 9:00 PM.
This is the first experience of integrating local governance with the citywide TMD transport system, which could become a model for other areas of Bali.
Authorities do not plan to expand the network yet, but they allow for the possibility of route changes and adding new stops based on passenger needs.
The new service will be an important step in the development of eco-friendly transportation in Bali and could significantly simplify travel in one of the island's most popular tourist areas.
