A trial has begun in Bali for three UK citizens suspected of cocaine smuggling and involvement in drug trafficking. The case has captured the attention of both local and international media.

The accused are Jonathan Christopher Collier (38), Lisa Ellen Stoker (39), and Phineas Ambrose Flott (31).
A smiling Collier and Stoker were detained on February 1, 2025, at Ngurah Rai International Airport. During an inspection, they were found with 17 packages of cocaine weighing almost one kilogram.
A few days later, Flott was arrested on suspicion of being the intended recipient of the drug shipment. Since their arrest, the three Britons have been in custody pending investigation. On May 5, the police transferred the case and evidence to the Badung district prosecutor's office. The seized substances included ten blue plastic bags labeled 'Angel Delight' containing 637.12 grams of cocaine.
Additionally, in Lisa Ellen Stoker's belongings, seven similar bags with 443.10 grams of cocaine were found. Also confiscated were a Samsung S15 smartphone, an electronic customs declaration in Collier's name, a boarding pass, and other personal items.
Initially, it was reported that the accused faced up to 20 years in prison, but the prosecution clarified that the maximum penalties for such crimes are death or life imprisonment.
In addition to the British citizens, a 43-year-old Australian citizen named Lamar Aaron Achchi was arrested in Bali in May. According to the police, he organized the postal delivery of two cocaine parcels worth 1.1 million Australian dollars.
The parcels arrived in Denpasar on May 22, with the drugs hidden in chocolate packaging. If it is proven that Achchi not only consumed drugs but also distributed them, he could also face the death penalty.
