The drugs were transported by two individuals, JC and LE, who were apprehended upon arrival in Bali. Authorities discovered 994.56 grams of cocaine, which they had brought from the UK via Doha Airport in Qatar. Customs and police officers intercepted them during baggage inspection. The drugs were disguised as food packaging. JCs gray suitcase contained 10 packets of Angel Delight powder, weighing a total of 637.12 grams. LEs luggage had 7 packets containing 443.10 grams of powder. Preliminary analysis indicated that both substances contain Category 1 narcotics. The total estimated value of the seized cocaine is 6 billion rupiah.
Following their arrest, JC and LE were taken to Ngurah Rai Customs for questioning. The police then conducted a controlled delivery operation, which led to the arrest of a third British national, PA, in Tuban, Badung. He is suspected of being connected to the drug smuggling operation.
It was revealed that this was not their first attempt at smuggling. The suspects had committed similar offenses twice before. However, details of these cases have not been disclosed, as the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to dismantle the entire international drug trafficking network operating in Bali.
What particularly outraged officers and those present was the suspects  demeanor during a press conference at the Bali police headquarters. Despite the serious charges, they were seen smiling, laughing, and maintaining a positive attitude.
All three detainees have been charged under Article 113(2) of Indonesians Narcotics Law No. 35 of 2009. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison.
