Recently, Denpasar patrols took to the roads to 'warn' reckless drivers. The main targets were illegal street racing and motorcycles with modified 'loud' mufflers (knalpot brong), which have long irritated local residents.
During the initial raids, the police:
— recorded 34 violations
— confiscated 24 bikes for having illegal 'roaring' mufflers.
— issued fines for 10 violations related to license plates.

Until November 30, Operation 'Zebra Agung 2025' continues in Bali, meaning raids will occur across the island, including tourist areas. The police promise to strictly monitor violations that most often lead to accidents: using a phone while driving, wrong-way driving, carrying more than one passenger on a bike, and minors driving.
Baliforum reminds you of the fines that could seriously disrupt your holiday:
— Holding a phone while driving: up to 750,000 rupiah.
— Wrong-way driving or speeding: up to 500,000 rupiah.

A number of common violations: up to 250,000 rupiah for each.
— 'Loud' muffler (with risk of bike confiscation).
— Carrying more than one passenger on a motorcycle.
— Riding without a helmet.
— Unfastened seatbelt.
Lack of international driving license: fine up to 1,000,000 rupiah.
Therefore, if you plan to rent a vehicle in Bali, make sure you have all the necessary documents, and your bike does not disturb the peace of the paradise island.
You can obtain an Indonesian driving license, valid in all ASEAN member countries, through Legal Indonesia: quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
