The Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) company, which manages the Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone on Serangan (Turtle Island), will begin construction of an international marina in April 2025.
The company’s Head of Communications, Zakki Hakim, noted that this will be the first international marina to serve as an integrated hub with various facilities on Kura-Kura Bali. It will also be conveniently located near Benoa, Bali’s international seaport, which is currently expanding its operations. Once completed, the small vessel dock will be able to accommodate 120 to 140 luxury yachts simultaneously.
The Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone is expected to become one of Bali’s new economic centers. The area will feature an international marina, The Grand Outlet Bali (GOB) shopping center, the Anglo-Chinese School Bali (ACS Bali), the UID Lodge (United in Diversity Lodge) hotel complex, the International Mangrove Research Center (IMRC), as well as hotels and villas that are currently under construction.
At present, Bali lacks marinas of this level. This project will not only accommodate small ocean yachts but also superyachts with large displacement and high service requirements for both the vessels and their passengers.
