Bali has become the first region in Indonesia to launch a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network. The presentation took place at SMPN 15 Denpasar School. The ceremony was attended by Bali Governor I Wayan Koster and executives from partner companies. Koster called the launch of Wi-Fi 7 "a major step towards turning Bali into a true Digital Island."

The launch of Wi-Fi 7 is the result of a collaboration between the Bali provincial government and providers Starlight, Bali Internet, and Huawei. The next-generation network offers connection speeds of up to 2 Gbps and opens up new opportunities for education, business, and tourism in Bali.
According to Bali Internet, over 90% of Bali residents actively use the internet, with an average speed of 49.1 Mbps, which is nearly twice the national average in Indonesia. Wi-Fi 7 will be a step towards the full digitalization of Bali's schools and preparing the younger generation for global competition.
The "Smart Classroom" concept, introduced alongside Wi-Fi 7, allows top teachers from major cities to conduct classes remotely, improving educational quality in remote areas. SMPN 15 School Director Ni Wayan Purnasih mentioned that her school is proud to be the launchpad for such an extensive project: "Our students can now learn using modern technologies and develop skills demanded on an international level."

Governor Koster reiterated that digital infrastructure has been a priority since 2018. Free internet is already provided to schools, medical centers, and tourist areas. The construction of the Turyapada telecommunications tower has helped cover broadcast "white zones" and strengthen the network.
The launch of Wi-Fi 7 makes Bali a pioneer in digital education in Indonesia, offering equal access to knowledge and creating new opportunities for economic and tourism development.
