Bali to Get Its Own Eiffel Tower!

To replicate Paris's iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower—that is the ambitious vision behind the new Turyapada Tower in the Buleleng Regency, near the Handara Hotel.
Originally conceived primarily as a communications tower for digital broadcasting, telecommunications, internet, and radio, Turyapada will also serve as a tourist attraction.
Construction of the Turyapada Tower began in 2022 during the governorship of Wayan Koster. The former Bali governor stated, "The construction of this tower fulfills my political promise made during the 2018 elections. I promised to build a regular tower to cover the TV broadcasting area in Buleleng. Without satellite dishes, the residents of Buleleng cannot enjoy TV broadcasts. Now, it is not just an ordinary tower. It can also be used as a tourist attraction. The broadcast will even reach Karangasem and Jembrana."
The 115-meter tower will feature a planetarium, a skywalk, a 360-degree rotating restaurant, and a glass bridge—the second of its kind in Bali. Visitors will also find flower and fruit gardens, children's playgrounds, glamping sites, a zip line, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Additionally, Turyapada will offer conference rooms, educational labs, and a cultural museum showcasing technologies from different eras of civilization on the island.
Since Bali authorities expect Turyapada Tower to become as significant an attraction for tourists as the Eiffel Tower or Tokyo Tower, a one-hectare parking area and a free 1.4 km shuttle service from the parking lot to the tower will be provided for visitors.
The structure will have a high seismic resistance coefficient and is designed to last at least 500 years. Approximately 418 billion rupiahs have already been invested in its construction. The Bali government plans to relocate many hotels, villas, and restaurants to this area, with hotel and restaurant taxes benefiting the local district. Thus, Turyapada Tower is expected to become a new major source of tax revenue for Bali.
Currently, the tower is 98% complete. According to Gede Pramana, head of the Bali Province Department of Communications, Information, and Statistics, testing and trials are underway. The final step is completing the glass bridges, which require high precision. The tower is expected to open to tourists on July 4th, and visitors will be able to visit it at this address.
