Ngurah Rai Airport saw the projected peak in passenger traffic over the long weekend for Chinese New Year (Imlek).

The airport administration had previously said that Sunday, 15 February, would be the busiest day of the holiday period from 13 to 19 February, with around 76,000 passengers expected in a single day (about 37,000 arrivals and 39,000 departures). The difference from a normal day is about +925 passengers per day, or roughly +6,500 passengers over the whole week.
For the entire period from 13 to 19 February, the operator Angkasa Pura Indonesia forecasts about 438,000 passengers, with more than half on international flights: around 268,000 international and 170,000 domestic. Around 2,804 aircraft movements are also expected (1,521 international and 1,283 domestic).
The next expected peak is the return flow on Thursday, 19 February. The forecast is about 64,000 passengers in a day. The airport warns that it may be busier than usual both inside the terminals and on the roads leading to the airport, so passengers are asked to arrive early. The main risks are queues in the arrivals area and traffic jams near the airport, which can slow down operations.
