AirAsia to Launch New Bali–Adelaide Route

Bali is the most popular destination for travelers from South Australia. There is significant demand in the region for affordable flights to the Island of the Gods. Indonesian airline AirAsia has announced the launch of flights between Adelaide and Denpasar starting June 25 this year, becoming the first low-cost carrier to operate on this route.
There will be four flights per week operated by an A320-200 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats. Flights will depart from Adelaide on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and return from Bali on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. With the introduction of this new route, passenger traffic at Adelaide Airport is expected to increase to 74,000 people per year.
Tickets for the new route went on sale on April 9, priced at 199 Australian dollars (around 125 USD).
Flights from Bali connect to many popular destinations within the AirAsia Group’s network, which includes over 130 cities across Asia and beyond. This makes Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport a key hub for connecting flights.
Indonesia’s Consul General in Sydney, Vedi Kurnia Buana, commented: “We are delighted to welcome the launch of the new direct AirAsia Indonesia route connecting Bali and Adelaide. This initiative not only offers Australian travelers more opportunities to enjoy the beauty of Bali and other destinations in Indonesia, but also invites Indonesian travelers to explore the attractions and rich heritage of South Australia.”
