It has become easier for Tabanan residents to deal with immigration matters — you can now extend your visa locally, without travelling to Denpasar. The new immigration office started receiving its first applicants in March, and operations are now running smoothly, with the branch working at full capacity.

Felucia Sengky Ratna, Head of the Bali Regional Immigration Office, said that the infrastructure is now fully in place and the office has been fully staffed.
The new office has been set up in the former district administration building. It was repurposed for immigration services to speed up the launch and avoid waiting for a separate building to be constructed.
Basic services are already available at the new branch: locals can apply for and replace passports, and foreigners can extend their stay permits here.
The office was opened due to the growing workload and the number of foreigners in the area. According to 2025 data, around 153,000 foreign nationals were in Tabanan.
At the same time, another immigration office in Klungkung is being prepared for launch. Previously, almost all foreigners travelled to Denpasar for visa matters, which led to queues building up there. Now some people will be able to sort things out in their own districts, without extra trips and wasted time. This will spread the workload more evenly and make services more accessible for residents.
Opening hours of the new office in Tabanan:
