Two New Immigration Offices in Bali: Convenience or Control?

Foreigners living around Tabanan and Klungkung will no longer need to travel to Denpasar for visa matters.
Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration (Ditjen Imigrasi) has decided to expand its network of offices in Bali. As part of a national program to improve the quality and accessibility of public services, two new immigration offices (Kantor Imigrasi) will be opened on the island.
Klungkung Regency: The new office will be opened at the Government Center (Pusat Pemerintahan Kabupaten Klungkung).
Tabanan Regency: The office will start operating in the center of Tabanan city, near the Regency Head Office (Kantor Bupati).
As stated by the Acting Director General of the Immigration Service, Yudi Usman, residents of Klungkung and Tabanan will no longer need to make long trips to Denpasar and Badung for basic services.
Indonesian citizens (WNI) will have simplified access to obtaining passports, while foreign nationals (WNA) will be able to resolve issues related to residence permits (izin tinggal) and other immigration procedures more quickly.
At the same time, the expansion of the office network and recruitment of additional staff will allow the Immigration Service to geographically expand its supervisory functions.
Authorities are confident that this will expedite operations and help respond faster to violations across the island.

A total of 18 new Imigrasi offices are planned to be opened across Indonesia. Once operational, the total number of immigration offices in the country will reach 151, which, according to the department, will ensure more 'targeted and balanced' supervision in all regions of the country.
"We want regions that show a significant need for immigration services to be properly served. This is a step towards better service for both locals and tourists," emphasized the Acting Director General of the Indonesian Immigration Service, Yudi Usman.
