The main reasons were overstaying a visa or residence permit, using a permit for purposes other than those intended, working without official permission, involvement in illegal economic activities, and public order offences. The nationalities of those deported were not disclosed.
For comparison, by 9 September 2024, 378 foreigners had been deported from Bali. In the whole of 2023, there were 335 such cases. This means that in the first six months of 2026, the number of deportations had already almost reached the total for all of 2023.
Checks in Bali were tightened this spring. In April, the Directorate General of Immigration launched the Dharma Dewata special patrol for areas with a high concentration of foreigners.
Deportation may be accompanied by a ban on re-entering Indonesia. Foreigners should keep track of their visa expiry date, renew their documents on time, and avoid working on a tourist permit. Legal Indonesia is ready to take care of all the paperwork. You can trust the agency’s specialists with any visa-related matters.
