Vihara Dharma Giri Buddhist Temple

Type of place
Vihara Dharma Giri Temple is located in the village of Pupuan. It is famous for its 10-meter statue of Buddha. The temple is built on three levels. On the first level, there is an open courtyard where you can have refreshing drinks. The Sleeping Buddha is located on the second level. A lot of time was spent by craftsmen from Klungkung to create this statue, which was completed in 2007. Behind the figure, mountain landscapes stretch out, which is another reason why the temple impresses its visitors.
On the third level, there is a pavilion with a bell and a building housing a gilded statue of a sitting Buddha. This building serves for prayers.
The temple is open to the public and entry is free, but it is expected that you will make a donation when you visit. A temple staff member will give you general guidance. If you plan to visit the temple, please cover your shoulders and legs. For those without a sarong, they are provided at the temple.
