Pura Lempuyang is a sacred temple complex in East Bali, set high on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang. It is best known for the Gates of Heaven, where the traditional split gate opens onto a dramatic view of Mount Agung.
Beyond this famous photo spot, Lempuyang is an important pilgrimage site with several temples spread along a mountain route. Reaching the highest temple requires a long climb, but visitors are rewarded with forest scenery, mountain views, and a quieter side of Bali’s spiritual life.
