A beautiful restaurant of fine Indonesian cuisine with a stunning view of the jungle.
Finding really tasty, high-quality Indonesian cuisine made from fresh ingredients in Bali is not an easy task.
Fried rice (nasi goreng) and noodles (mi goreng), deep-fried bananas, bakso soup with sad meatballs and gado-gado salad generously covered with fatty peanut sauce in local warungs - this is far from exquisite.
Where to go if you want to not only try authentic local cuisine and not worry about the consequences, but also enjoy the taste, and even along with excellent service, a mind-blowing view of the jungle and the Agung volcano?
Then welcome to the legendary Indus.
Atmosphere:
Indus is an old restaurant of authentic Indonesian cuisine in Ubud, opened back in 1998. The interior of the spacious two-story restaurant is impressive: marble floors, hand-carved columns, teak furniture and hand-embroidered textiles. Rich :)
But the main advantage of Indus is the absolutely incredible view of the jungle, the formidable Agung volcano and the famous Tjampuhan walking trail.
If you want to fully enjoy the vastness opening before your eyes, choose a table on the second-floor balcony.
The service is always top-notch: invariably attentive, neat and smiling waiters, talented bartenders.
In the evening, candles are placed on the tables and the entire space is enveloped in a romantic atmosphere (an excellent option for a dinner for two).
Specials:
- on Mondays and every second Friday of the month (follow the announcements on the website and Facebook) you can also dance: at 19:30 the tables are cleared and hot Salsa or Flamenco nights begin :)
Cuisine:
In addition to classic Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng, nasi champur and gado gado, the menu includes a mix of Asian, Eastern and European influences.
Balinese-style paella (which appeared at the request of the restaurant owner after a trip to Spain) with yellow rice and shrimp, duck curry with a secret ingredient - lychee, a healthy vegan salad with beetroot and grilled tofu, rendang (a classic Indonesian dish with coconut milk) made from jackfruit and Italian pizza on a thin crust.
There is a separate menu for vegans.
A larger selection for meat eaters, including grilled meat. A wide range of fresh baked goods from our own bakery.
Free tempeh rice crackers with every meal and drink.
Specials:
- Fresh fish friday every Friday. Fresh fish and vegetable side dishes all day long. Price 220,000/person.
- Full Moon Dinners are held every full moon (the most important day of the month for the Balinese) – romantic dinners with a special menu (you can find it in our gallery). The program includes coconut chicken with amaranth chips, fresh lobster, satay, salads and a trio of homemade desserts.
You can also order this dinner on any day (reservation required). Price: 590,000 for two (taxes included)
Drinks:
A wide selection of "healthy" drinks: smoothies, green juices, signature Jamu (drink with turmeric and honey).
High-quality coffee (there is soy milk and cashew milk).
A wide selection of high-quality alcoholic cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Specials:
- every day: Happy Hour from 5-7 pm. Special prices on cocktails and free snacks to go with them.
Taxes 15%.
