Indian tourists Sudhindra Adoni (31 years old) and his wife Rachana were robbed in Kuta. The incident occurred in the evening in front of Diva Karaoke. The family had decided to dine at an Indian restaurant. Nearby, they noticed two men acting suspiciously while sitting on a motorcycle.
Sensing danger, Adoni immediately hid his mobile phone in his pants pocket, fearing it might be stolen. However, the two men suddenly approached, snatched a necklace from the woman’s neck, and sped off.
The victims reported that the gold necklace, with a pendant, was of great value, weighing 40 grams and worth the equivalent of 49.8 million Indonesian rupiah. According to a widely shared video, the victims were hysterical after the incident, and their young child was frightened and crying.
A witness to the event, a woman named Mia who works nearby, advised the family to urgently report the incident to the police. Currently, Kuta police’s criminal department is investigating the case, gathering information from witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
Earlier, the police issued a reminder to island visitors to keep their valuables in safe places. Moreover, tourists were advised to be cautious when tagging their locations on social media, especially if expensive items appear in the photos. The police also mentioned plans to increase patrols in key tourist streets and areas.
