The First Immigration Patrol Was Spotted in Legian

Recently, 100 officers from the new immigration patrol unit (Satgas Patroli Imigrasi) participated in a ceremonial assembly at Benoa square, and now they can already be seen on the island's streets. Vacationers at Legian Beach spotted immigration service officers.

The purpose of their arrival at one of the most popular tourist spots is unknown. In the footage, four patrol officers are visible. As previously reported, they are wearing bulletproof vests, and some have body cameras.
Moreover, in various parts of Bali, many have already noticed pickups that seem to be used by immigration patrol representatives. The vehicles are brand new and were purchased specifically for the new unit.

At the beginning of August, Indonesia's Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Yasonna H. Laoly, announced that he had instructed Bali's Regional Immigration Patrol Group to actively combat undisciplined foreigners on the island. Officers will monitor public order and detect visa regime violations, particularly illegal work, unauthorized businesses, and activities disturbing peace and law.
Incidentally, some officers are moving around on bikes. It's still unclear whether they will pay attention to traffic violations by tourists, such as riding without a helmet.
The deployment of the patrol group has been approved by President Prabowo. The patrols will operate in ten key areas within the jurisdiction of the Ngurah Rai and Denpasar immigration offices.
